iPhones do not allow you to choose a timelapse speed Android devices will offer you a selection of timelapse speeds

YOUR HANDY SPEED GUIDE

1x is good for dramatic speed slowdown
5x is good for lively group shooting
10x is good if you are walking along ie creating a hyperlapse
30x is good for busy shots
20x is good for sunsets

HOLD STEADY

The key to shooting a good timelapse is to have your smartphone steady
A tripod makes a huge difference, but you don’t need to spend a fortune
If you don’t have any kit, just make two small cuts in the sides of a cardboard coffee cup and jam your phone in there to get started
A table top tripod is a good investment and there are plenty of good ones from $10 upwards to be.

FINAL TIP FOR TODAY

Do make sure you have plenty of space on your smartphone when you shoot a timelapse and a full battery.
